5 Fun and Alternative Things to do in Goa

Goan Food
Although tourism has made beach shack food a synonym for Goan food, but the authentic Goan food is far from what we get there. The streets in Goa are no less than the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi, you just need to know the right spots for Authentic Goan Food.

Here is my list of places for relishing the authentic Goan Food.
- Chicken & Mutton Xacuti at Ashok Bar & Restaurant, Panjim
- Fish Thali at a local restaurant like Mahesh Bar & restaurant at Bandora
- Goan sweets like Bebinca, Doce & Perad at confeitaria 31 de janeiro, Panjim
- Goan Bhaji Pav for breakfast at any local joint

Divar Island
Goa is a goldmine of natural beauty and an intrinsic experience of Goa is incomplete without exploring its serene countryside. In my search for tranquil and quiet corners of Goa, I stumbled upon the state’s largest river island of Divar. Accessible only by ferry, Divar Island still maintains its exclusivity and unique character.

Ghats & Waterfalls Of Goa - Chorla Ghats
Around 60 Kms from Panjim, the scenery, and the colour changes. The blues become greens. And the beaches and parties give way to the solitude of Chorla Ghats. This places is a reminder that there is hillside of Goa as well. It is a part of the beautiful Western Ghats which is known for its famous Waterfalls and biodiversity. If you are seeking refuge in nature’s thrills and frills, then this is your destination.

Villages of Goa - Rachol and Aldona
It is said, that the heart of a place lies in their villages. And Goa has a beautiful and soulful heart. Neat and clean roads, colorful homes with a rich history and a leisurely pace of life. While the village of rachol houses the famous seminary and the oldest church of South Goa, the village of Aldona is lovingly described by its inhabitants as the most beautiful village in the world. Whitewashed churches, lush green fields and a number of small and large of bridges - this indeed is a fabulous place to enjoy the wonders of nature.

Slow Travel & Susegad
Did you ever wonder, while in Goa, all we do is RUN
From beaches
To forts
To churches
And ultimately back home

But sometimes we have to take it slow to discover the very essence of a place.
The excitement of stumbling upon a perfect little spot, the contentment of finding your own path based on your guts and instincts, the joys of savouring the true flavours and the happiness in sharing stories - well this is what Slow Travel is to me and this is what makes the journey more meaningful.

But in the end do remember that COVID is still very much a REALITY !!!

It's true that Goa is opening up for tourism, but is it safe to travel during Covid. Well we are not here to give you GYAAN on travelling to Goa after lockdown. But it goes without saying that if possible please avoid travelling for some more time. Still if you have to, please travel responsibly - not only for your own sake but for others as well. So a Goa trip in 2020/21 should be done keeping all the precautions in mind
