Balboa Park is a one-stop wonderland for tourists. This 1,400-acre site encompasses historical buildings, numerous museums, gardens, and green space. The park was created for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916, and most of the buildings remain from that event. The predominant architecture is Spanish-style, with low-rise buildings that blend in with the natural surroundings.
Among the highlights of the park are the botanical gardens and lily pond, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the famous San Diego Zoo. The park is simply a beautiful place to visit.

San Diego zoo has 3,000 animals, accounting for over 300 species, roam this 1,800-acre wildlife sanctuary and botanical garden. Guests may go on guided tours, attend daily talks from zookeepers about various animals, pet goats, and enjoy an up-close meet and greets with some of the park’s friendlier inhabitants. Guests can also take a short hot air balloon ride over the park.

Located in downtown San Diego, the USS Midway Museum was America’s longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Today, the interactive museum is an unforgettable adventure for the entire family as guests walk in the footsteps of the 225,000 young men who served on Midway.

Gaslamp Quarter - Adjacent to Petco Park and the Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter National Historic District is the hub of the city's nightlife. It's a great place to visit if you're looking for things to do in downtown San Diego — especially after dark.

Embracing Peace Statue - The “kissing sailor” statue is 25 feet tall, weighs 6,000 pounds, and is called “Unconditional Surrender,” by J. Seward Johnson, although the city of San Diego has officially labeled it the “Embracing Peace” statue. The original statue was removed in 2012, but in 2013, a replica was installed back in San Diego, and it now rests there permanently. The USS Midway Museum raised $1 million to fund the replacement.

Tuna Harbor Park is a small park next to the USS Midway. It provides guests with shaded areas to relax, a scenic promenade, and a perfect vantage point for viewing the diverse boating activity of San Diego Bay.

Seaport Village is a delightful place to stroll around and spend an afternoon. Located right on the waterfront, this area of unique shops and restaurants is one of the city's must-sees. Picnic tables, benches, and waterfront patios are sprinkled throughout the area, and weekends can be very busy. The area is easily accessible on foot from many of the nearby attractions, including the USS Midway.
