However, we soon discovered that behind the door of any hotel lies an extraordinary story - and a snapshot of everyday modern life.

The brand new Season 4 takes cameras to the family-run Cavendish Hotel, just meters from the previous season’s Grosvenor Hotel, then run by the inimitable Mark Jenkins. The Cavendish has seen better days: the roof is old and leaking, the entire place needs a coat of paint and it’s ranked as number 84 out of 100 hotels on Trip Advisor, with some guests saying it just needs knocking down.
