Ontario is at a high 3670 cases

1016 really high cases are from Toronto, 613 high cases are from Peel Region, 519 high cases are from York Region, 214 from Ottawa, 196 from Durham Region, 161 from Hamilton, and 157 from Halton Region. All other regions reported under 150. 15 deaths have been reported.

20,487 UK variants, 81 South African variants, and 143 Brazilian variants are in Ontario currently, with the UK and Brazilian variants dangerously increasing.

Travellers entering Canada by air can avoid paying more than $1000 for a mandatory 3-day quarantine. Travellers need to tell health officials that they can't afford the 3-day package at one of the 19 hotels run by the government, and the government will pay for it instead. However, one woman had to deal with an issue when the hotel didn't have a room ready for her, and she had to stay at a government quarantine facility at a Hilton Hotel on Dixon Road, which is blocked off with steel barriers and security 24 hours. She was brought in on Saturday and was not let out until a government official let her out on Wednesday. The government needs to have more rooms ready for travellers instead of taking them to a governmental facility where people with potential variant cases are sent.

ICU patients have increased gradually since January. Brampton Civic Hospital had 9 ICU patients within 12 hours yesterday. 36 people were admitted to the ICU. Hospitals in the GTHA had to close the pediatric units, non-urgent surgeries have been postponed, and some ICU patients have been sent to SickKids Children's Hospital to make room, with 8 beds. Health Canada reported the increase of ICU patients went from 7.4% to 15% higher. Patients are being sent from Toronto to London, Northern Ontario, and other hospitals in the province.

The stay-at-home order is in place and ends May 5th. You can go out for work, school, shopping for groceries, pick up prescribed medication, accessing health care, and exercising (going for a walk, walk your dog(s) (PLEASE LEASH YOUR DOGS AT ALL TIMES). Non-essential businesses can only do curbside pickup, and big box stores will only have aisles open with essential products only.
