Hanayashiki is Japan's oldest amusement park, occupying a small space in the middle of Tokyo's Asakusa district - also famous for it's market and temple.
Opening as a horticultural garden in 1853, it has also been a small zoo, before it's current function as a small children's amusement park.
The Roller Coaster was originally called 'Jet Coaster', opening in 1953 it was the first coaster in Japan. It was also the first coaster made by Togo, who have dominated the Japanese amusement ride industry ever since. 'Jet Coaster' became Japan's generic name for the roller coaster, similar to the name 'Big Dipper'.
The Bee Tower was the first iconic attraction at Hanayashiki, it opened in 1960 but was removed in 2016 to make way for a theatre.
