Almost everything about content-creator Sophie Simmons’ one-bedroom, 331-square-foot Hell’s Kitchen apartment sounds like a miracle. Two years ago, she thought she wanted to live on the Upper West Side, but home hunting during the winter seasons wasn’t proving fruitful and almost everything was above budget and didn’t offer much. Sophie, who’s a self-proclaimed “Southern Belle” from Texas said the “pickin’s were slim.” She was beginning to lose hope on finding a home at all, until her real estate broker suggested opening up her search radius. After moving in, Simone was able to source clever and chic finds all around town to transform this space to her “Thrifted Palace.” Adding creative DIYs, some made from her parents and herself, gives this small space some big personality and despite a few quirks, this couple has made this little gem in the city work for them, as the “royalty” of their palace.
